Why it matters more for them

Smaller bodies. Thinner skin. More hours in their socks.

Children’s skin is thinner and more permeable than an adult’s, and they spend more of the day in their socks — running, sweating, growing. Their feet carry the same dense network of sweat glands packed into a smaller surface, kept warm and damp inside a shoe for hours.

That’s the case for caring more about what their socks are made of, not less. With STROMA there’s simply less in the equation: no dye, no bleach, no brightener, no biocide. Cotton, and the disclosure to prove it.

Construction

Built to be worn hard.

Seamless hand-linked toe, so there’s no ridge to rub small toes. A Y-Gore heel pocket that stays put through a day of movement. A ribbed leg that holds up without digging in. The softness is the raw cotton itself — pre-softened with a natural citric-acid wash, nothing synthetic.

There’s no dye, bleach, brightener, finish, or biocide in them — the additives most often behind contact irritation are simply absent. We can’t diagnose a child’s skin, but we can tell you exactly what is and isn’t in the sock, in full, so you can decide with their doctor.

Colour means dye applied to fabric that sits on skin all day. We chose to leave it out. The natural off-white is the cotton’s own tone — nothing added to make it look like anything else.

Right — because that treatment is a biocide held in the fabric. Untreated organic cotton breathes and releases moisture instead of trapping it. A normal wash and a chance to air out does the job.
