Most sock irritation isn’t the cotton — it’s what was done to the cotton. Remove the dyes, finishes, and biocides and you remove the things skin reacts to. What’s left is fibre.

Your feet carry around 250,000 sweat glands between them — the densest on the body — and produce close to half a pint of moisture a day. STROMA gives that warm, damp environment nothing to release: no dye to run, no finish to break down, no biocide to leach.

A 3×1 ribbed leg holds the sock up without elastic gripping. A Y-Gore heel pocket sits to the anatomy of the foot. A hand-linked seamless toe means no ridge across your toes. The performance is knitted in, not treated on.

Shipped in a 100% unbleached, recycled kraft belly band, closed with a die-cut paper tab or plant-based adhesive. Zero plastic tape, zero polybags, zero shrink-wrap.

The natural, undyed off-white of raw organic cotton — what the brand palette calls bone and flax. Slight variation between batches is the fibre, not a flaw. We never correct it with bleach or brighteners.

The stretch is 5–7% bio-elastane, verified bio-based and castor-derived. It’s fully encased inside the knit as an internal feed, so it gives the sock its hold without ever touching your skin. We disclose it because we disclose everything.

Odour comes from bacteria feeding on sweat, and biocide finishes mask it rather than fix it — while sitting in the fabric against your skin. Untreated organic cotton breathes and releases moisture instead of trapping it. Wash them normally; air them between wears.

Yes — GOTS-certified, which governs the fibre and the processing, not just the crop. The elastane is verified bio-based. These are checkable standards, not in-house words.

Cold or warm machine wash, mild detergent, no fabric softener — softener coats fibres in exactly the kind of residue we left out. Air-dry or low heat. No special care; just don’t undo the point of them.

The fabric is pre-softened and tumbled, so movement is minimal. The 3×1 ribbed leg and Y-Gore heel are structural — the shape is knitted in, not held by a finish.
